Qué remedio hay

Limited Series

Nostalgia, anxiety and anticipation- those are the sensations that inspired the creation of the series Qué remedio hay. Created during my birthday month, and in anticipation of my leaving Puerto Rico to begin my Masters studies in the U.K., the pieces of this series serve as a reflection upon the years of my Bachelor’s degree. Using a vibrant and juvenile palette, with symbols and sensations of young-adulthood, I wish to create portraits of resignation bathed in false/fantastical nostalgia. In them, what is captured isn’t objective reality, but insecurity and the fragmentation of memory, viewed through “rose-colored glasses”.
